- The World Climate Service -
Global probabilistic forecasts of seasonal climate variations are published electronically
each month to provide guidance for the planning and management of public and private activities
dependent on climate. Additional information, demonstrations, and subscriptions are available at
worldclimateservice.com.
The WCS seasonal forecasts are based in part on the seasonal forecast ensemble products of
ECMWF, the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts. The seasonal forecasts produced
by ECMWF are described on the Center's website.
- Battlefield Weather Probabilities -
A multi-scale, high resolution system for producing probabilistic forecasts of battlefield
weather conditions was developed and demonstrated for the U.S. Army Research Laboratory under
a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) contract.
- Wildfire Weather Decision System -
With the sponsorship of the USDA Forest Service, we are developing an advanced system for
integrating atmospheric and other information to provide probabilistic assessments of the
risk of wildfires and the potential for explosive development of existing fires.
- Global Probabilistic Forecast System -
Ensemble forecasts computed by the National Weather Service are used as a meteorological
prototype during development of a system for probabilistic assessment and visualization of
battlefield weather risk and opportunities as part of a Next Century Corporation Phase II
SBIR contract with the Army Research Laboratory.
